The Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulates, inspects and reviews all care homes in England. They use to award star ratings to care homes following key inspections so that they can tell people simply and clearly how well a registered service is doing against national standards. They introduced quality ratings to indicate whether a care home or care service is 'excellent', 'good', 'adequate' or 'poor'. Copies of our inspection report can be found on the left by clicking “Inspection Reports”
Although the star rating system has now come to an end, the CQC had awarded Lavenders the maximum of 3 Stars – Excellent Rating
Here at Lavenders we have encouraged all our staff to attend training sessions such as Fire Lectures, Safe Handling of Medicines, Infection Control, Health and Safety, Food Hygiene and First Aid, to help maintain a high standard of care and accommodation.
We are also pleased to have supported staff with achieving their NVQ's, in management, care and housekeeping.
We know this brings benefits for our residents but it is also an investment in our people so they have the skills and confidence to do their job and feel valued as important members of our team.
Quality is the hallmark of Lavenders and it is delivered through high standards of accommodation, facilities, decoration, services and - most importantly - resident care.
Throughout its history, Lavenders has strived to provide a quality service to all of its Residents through the relentless efforts of the managers and excellent members of staff.
In 2004 Lavenders received recognition for their quality management system by being awarded the ISO 9001:2000 certificate of approval. The implementation of this system, coupled with regular audits ensures a professional, continuous & repeatable quality system, meeting the standards demanded by our residents & all other related legislation and codes of practice.
In addition to the above standards, in 2007 Lavenders was awarded the maximum of five stars for the quality of management and hygiene for their catering department - further details are available by clicking in the "Food Hygiene" logo below.
